Be Guided in the Village of Milies, in Mount Pelion by a local guide

Fall in Love with Milies Village, Pelion

Get lost in the surprises that are waiting for you at Milies village with significant highlights dating to the 18th to 20th centuries. Milies is one of the villages of Mount Pelion. It is a mountainous village located at the southern side of the mountain and just 50 minutes from Volos.

We will stop at the central square in order to see the characteristic architecture of the mountain and visit the unique church of Taxiarches. The wall paintings of the church look like those of the monasteries in the famous UNESCO site of Meteora. Our next station will be the library of the old School dated in the Age of Enlightenment with its rare collection of 3.500 books.

Before we leave Milies we will follow the traditional path to the old railway station, listening to the sounds of the nature streams and birds. Walking upon the rails of the mythical train of the mountain known as “Moutzouris” we will reach the world famous bridge of the Italian engineer Evaristo de Chirico.

Have your Greek coffee or taste the local cuisine in the shade of the plane trees (platanus). Walk through its tradition, nature, history and art with a local.
